Mission Local and New York Times to Co-Host San Francisco Congressional Debate Featuring Wiener and Chan
Mission Local, in collaboration with the New York Times and City Arts & Lectures, will host a congressional debate on October 13 at the Sydney Goldstein Theater in San Francisco. The event will feature State Senator Scott Wiener and District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan, who are competing to succeed Representative Nancy Pelosi in what is described as the city's first competitive congressional race in four decades. The debate is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the 1,600-seat venue. Joe Eskenazi, columnist and managing editor for Mission Local, will co-moderate the forum alongside Heather Knight, the San Francisco bureau chief for the New York Times. Tickets for in-person attendance start at $36, with virtual tickets available for $5.75. A free recording of the event will be made available after the forum.
