Quebec Health Authorities Warn of E. coli in Ground Beef from Marché Atlas
Quebec's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with Montreal's Food Inspection Division and Marché Atlas, has issued a warning about potential E. coli contamination in lean ground beef sold at Marché Atlas in St-Léonard. The affected product, labeled 'bœuf haché maigre' and packaged on July 8, may contain Shiga toxin-producing E. coli bacteria. Consumers are advised not to consume the product, although no illnesses have been reported so far.
