Atlanta Public Schools Achieve Top Academic Gains, Driven by Strategic Plan
Atlanta Public Schools (APS) have reported significant academic improvements, ranking first among metro Atlanta districts in year-over-year gains. The district's performance in math, science, and social studies has more than doubled the statewide average, attributed to the 'Back to the Basics 2030' strategic plan. This plan has focused on enhancing student achievement, attendance, and teacher stability. Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson highlighted the collective efforts of students and educators in achieving these results. The district also reported improvements in attendance, with a reduction in chronic absenteeism, and a high teacher retention rate, indicating a stable educational environment.
