Kerr County Floods Damage Nearly 500 Homes and 100 Businesses
Residents in Kerr County, Texas, are recovering from significant flooding that caused widespread damage across the region. Heavy rainfall over several days led to the Guadalupe River overflowing, impacting areas such as Kerrville and Ingram. This marks the second major flood in the Texas Hill Country in just over a year. While the July 2025 floods resulted in over 130 fatalities, this year’s event saw only two deaths across South and Central Texas, thanks to improved warning systems and community vigilance. In total, more than 490 homes and 100 businesses sustained damage, with floodwaters in some areas surpassing last year’s levels. Cleanup efforts are underway, with volunteers assisting residents in removing debris, mud, and water-damaged belongings.
