Maryland State Trooper Injured in Lexington Park Collision, Flown to Trauma Center
On April 1, 2026, a Maryland State Trooper was involved in a motor vehicle collision in Lexington Park, Maryland. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of Hermanville Road and Piper Court. The collision involved a marked Maryland State Police cruiser and a METCOM truck and trailer, which was carrying approximately 500 gallons of diesel fuel. The crash resulted in a T-bone style collision, causing the diesel fuel to leak into a nearby grass ditch. Emergency services, including firefighters from Bay District and NAS Patuxent River, responded to the scene to manage the fuel leak. The trooper involved in the accident was transported by air to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment. The occupants of the METCOM vehicle declined medical transport.
