President William Ruto Accuses Predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta of Sponsoring Opposition
President William Ruto has intensified his attacks against his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of sponsoring opposition leaders to challenge his administration and its development agenda. Speaking in Awendo, Migori, during his Nyanza tour, Ruto claimed that some of his political opponents are 'puppets' and 'people for hire' being used by a sponsor to oppose government projects. These remarks follow direct accusations made in Siaya, where Ruto questioned Kenyatta's ability to defeat him in 2027, especially after failing to do so while still president. Ruto alleged that the sponsor, who he claims failed to deliver on roads, healthcare, housing, and education during his own tenure, is now using political allies to oppose the same programs under the current administration. He urged Migori residents to support the broad-based government, arguing that the arrangement involving UDA and ODM can unite communities and deliver development.
