Minnesota Printer Admits Error in Maryland Mail-In Ballots, Promises Reforms
A Minnesota printing company, Taylor Print & Visual Impressions, has taken full responsibility for an error that led to 447,000 mail-in ballots being resent to Maryland voters. The issue arose when some voters received ballots that did not match their registered party due to a system setting error. Traci Stevenson, the director of corporate strategy, and Angie Kalaytowicz, executive vice president for customer technology solutions, addressed the Maryland State Board of Elections, explaining that the error was due to a combination of equipment failure and human error. The company has since implemented additional safeguards to prevent future occurrences. The error led to voter confusion and criticism, including from President Trump, who inaccurately labeled the ballots as illegal.
