NBC Nightly News Sees Decline in Viewership Amidst Competitive Ratings
NBC Nightly News, hosted by Tom Llamas, experienced a decline in viewership for the week of April 20, 2026, according to Nielsen ratings. The program averaged 6.168 million total viewers and 831,000 in the Adults 25-54 demographic, marking a 4% decrease in total viewers and a 12% drop in the demo compared to the previous week. Despite this decline, NBC Nightly News showed an 8% increase in both total viewers and the demo compared to the same week in 2025. ABC World News Tonight with David Muir maintained its position as the top newscast, with 8.537 million total viewers and 1.056 million in the demo, showing growth in both categories. CBS Evening News, hosted by Tony Dokoupil, also saw a slight decrease, finishing with 3.771 million total viewers and 467,000 in the demo.
