USDA Chief Scientist Scott Hutchins to Deliver Lecture on Agricultural Innovation
Scott Hutchins, the chief scientist and undersecretary for research, education, and economics at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is scheduled to deliver a lecture titled 'Advancing Agricultural Innovation' on April 28. The event will take place at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus as part of the Heuermann Lecture series. Hutchins, who has a background in strategic planning within both government and private sectors, will engage in a 'fireside chat' with Tiffany Heng-Moss, the Harlan Vice Chancellor for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The lecture will focus on sustainability in food, natural resources, and renewable energy, reflecting Hutchins' role in directing major USDA components like the Agricultural Research Service.
