Locarno Pro Open Doors 2026: Celebrating Emerging Filmmakers
The Locarno Film Festival has announced the winners of its Locarno Pro and Open Doors initiatives, which support emerging filmmakers from Africa and other regions. The Open Doors main prize was shared by projects from Uganda, Somalia, and Ghana, highlighting diverse storytelling and cultural perspectives. Additional awards were given to projects from Mozambique, Tanzania, and Nigeria, among others. These initiatives provide mentorship, networking opportunities, and financial support to filmmakers, fostering creativity and innovation in the global film industry.
