Two Individuals Arrested After Children Found in Dilapidated North Charleston Home
Two individuals, Christopher Lee Morris, 43, of Goose Creek, and Kendall Zayne Witherspoon, 25, of North Charleston, were arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. The arrests followed the discovery of two small children in an abandoned home in North Charleston, South Carolina, which was found to be in severe disrepair. Police responded to a reported burglary on Southern Street, where they encountered Morris leaving the property. Upon entering the residence, officers found Witherspoon and the children amidst deplorable conditions. The home lacked running water and electricity, had broken windows, and was infested with live and dead cockroaches. Drug paraphernalia, including a glass pipe, foil, and butane lighters, was also discovered throughout the premises. Both Morris and Witherspoon were transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
