Dr. Ebony Johnson Leads Tulsa Public Schools as Superintendent, Emphasizing Student Potential
Dr. Ebony Johnson, a lifelong Tulsan and McLain High School graduate, serves as the superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, the largest public school district in Oklahoma. Her career in education began in 1999 as a classroom teacher at Monroe Middle School. She progressed through various leadership roles, including school principal at Academy Central Elementary, Central Junior High, Central High School, and McLain High School. In 2017, she became the executive director of Student and Family Support Services, followed by chief academic officer in 2020. She was appointed interim superintendent in 2023, with the 'interim' tag removed later that year. Dr. Johnson holds a Master of Education from Northeastern State University and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Oklahoma.
