Reggaeton Beach Festival Fined 320,000 Euros for Abusive Practices Affecting Attendees
The Ministry of Consumption has imposed a fine of 320,000 euros on the organizers of the Reggaeton Beach Festival for engaging in several abusive practices. These practices included prohibiting attendees from bringing food and drinks from outside, charging additional fees for re-entry, and imposing unjustified management fees on ticket sales. The festival, which had planned events across various locations including Tenerife, Barcelona, and Madrid, was forced to cancel its summer tour due to financial and operational challenges. The Ministry's decision followed a complaint by the consumer organization Facua-Consumidores en Acción, which highlighted these practices as violations of consumer rights. The festival organizers have admitted responsibility and are required to rectify these issues by eliminating the abusive clauses and refunding affected consumers.
