OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois, has incurred at least $17 million in damage following a microburst and heavy rainfall. The incident, which occurred last Thursday, resulted in damage to 11 roof sections, leading to water intrusion and the relocation of patients. Derrick Frazier, president of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, confirmed that 57 of the hospital's 149 beds are temporarily out of commission, and the electrophysiology lab was destroyed. The hospital's damage is part of broader structural damage, power outages, and flooding across Bloomington-Normal. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has issued a disaster proclamation for McLean County and 14 other Illinois counties, making additional state resources available. Democratic U.S. Rep.
