Project HOPE Launches Initiative to Expand Prostate Cancer Screening in Wisconsin
Project HOPE, with funding from The Labcorp Charitable Foundation, has launched a two-year initiative in Madison, Wisconsin, to enhance prostate cancer screening, diagnostic follow-up, and treatment for uninsured men or those facing barriers to care. This program will partner with two local free and charitable clinics, the Perry Family Free Clinic and the Specialty Care Free Clinic. The initiative aims to strengthen local resources and create clearer referral pathways to reduce disparities in screening and care. A key component involves expanding community-based screening and education by training local barbers to provide information on prostate cancer risk and screening, referring men to the Perry Family Free Clinic for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings.
