Right to IVF Act Introduced to Ensure Access to Fertility Treatments Nationwide
Representatives Lori Trahan, Rosa DeLauro, Rick Larsen, and others have introduced the Right to IVF Act, aimed at establishing a nationwide right to access in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies. The legislation seeks to lower the costs of IVF treatment, expand coverage for military families, and require employer-sponsored insurance programs to cover IVF. The bill is supported by the Congressional Reproductive Freedom Caucus, co-chaired by Representatives Diana DeGette and Ayanna Pressley, who emphasize the importance of fertility care amidst increasing abortion bans and threats to reproductive healthcare.
