Chicago Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run Following Argument
A 65-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Chicago's Southwest Side early Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the 5000 block of S. Western Avenue in Gage Park. According to the Chicago Police Department, the victim was standing on the sidewalk when a male driver in a blue SUV stopped near the curb, leading to a verbal argument between the two. The driver then drove onto the curb, hitting the victim, and fled the scene eastbound on 51st Street. The victim, who suffered trauma to his body, was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police have not yet identified the victim, and the motive behind the argument remains unclear. Area detectives are currently investigating the incident.
