Dinkytown Shooting Injures Two Men, One Arrested for Weapons Violation Ahead of University Semester
Two men were injured in an overnight shooting in Dinkytown, Minneapolis, early Sunday morning. Minneapolis police officers, who were responding to multiple disturbances in the area of 4th Street SE and 13th Avenue SE, heard gunshots. Upon investigation, they located two men with suspected gunshot wounds. Both victims were treated at the scene and transported to a hospital, where they are expected to recover. Officers detained several individuals at the scene and subsequently arrested one man for possessing a handgun without a permit to carry. He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail for the weapons violation. Several other handguns were also recovered as evidence. This incident follows a separate stabbing in the same area early Friday morning, just days before University of Minnesota students are scheduled to begin the fall semester.
