Victor Marx Campaign Faces Allegations of Campaign Finance Violations in Colorado
Republican gubernatorial candidate Victor Marx's campaign is under scrutiny for allegedly violating Colorado's campaign finance laws during the primary election. The Colorado Secretary of State's office has filed a complaint stating that the Marx campaign accepted $78,000 in excessive contributions from 111 donors, surpassing the legal limit of $1,450 per individual. Additionally, the campaign reportedly accepted cash contributions exceeding the $100 limit. The campaign, led by manager Buddy Jericho, acknowledges the complaint and is cooperating with the Secretary of State's office to address the issues. The investigation began after Republican Darcy Schoening filed multiple complaints against the campaign. Marx, who won the primary against Republican lawmakers Barbara Kirkmeyer and Scott Bottoms, is set to face Democratic Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser in the upcoming election.
