Fort Wayne City Council Reviews Proposed 2027 Budget Outlining Infrastructure and Public Safety Investments
Fort Wayne officials are currently presenting their proposed 2027 budget to the City Council, detailing plans to allocate millions of dollars towards critical areas such as infrastructure, public safety, parks, and neighborhood improvements. Major city divisions, including the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Finance and Administration, and Community Development, have outlined their spending plans. The Public Works department is slated to receive $42 million for investments, with $31.9 million designated for streets, roads, and neighborhoods, $6.7 million for sidewalks and alleys, $1.3 million for bridges, and $2.1 million for trails.
