Democratic Candidates in Iowa's 4th District Forum Highlight Shared Priorities Ahead of Primary
During a candidate forum at Morningside University in Sioux City, three Democratic candidates vying for Iowa's 4th Congressional District seat shared their priorities and largely agreed on key issues. The candidates, Dave Dawson, Ashley WolfTornabane, and Stephanie Steiner, are competing in the June 2 primary to potentially flip the district, which has been a Republican stronghold. Dawson, a former Iowa House member, emphasized expanding healthcare options and investing in rural communities. WolfTornabane, a former education assistant, advocated for the separation of church and state and addressing poverty's root causes. Steiner, a retired nurse, shared her personal struggles and called for universal healthcare. Despite their different backgrounds, the candidates agreed on supporting rural healthcare, environmental issues, and ensuring fair treatment for all Americans.
