WCO Hosts High-Level Meeting to Enhance Customs Cooperation in Tashkent
The World Customs Organization (WCO) recently organized the 11th Annual High-Level Interregional Meeting in Tashkent, bringing together customs representatives from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in combating transnational organized crime and enhancing customs policy. Participants reviewed the implementation of the Passenger and Cargo Control Programme and discussed the use of WCO tools for information exchange and coordination of operations. The event concluded with a visit to Uzbekistan's Customs Committee, showcasing the country's efforts to modernize customs procedures.
