Cincinnati Implements Gate-less Parking System to Enhance User Experience
Cincinnati has transitioned to a new parking management system that eliminates traditional gates and ticket dispensers in favor of modern technology. The city has partnered with Premium Parking to implement GLIDEPARCS technology across 14 surface lots and garages, totaling approximately 10,000 spaces. This system uses license plate reading technology to initiate parking sessions and offers touchless payment options via QR codes and other digital methods. The change was partly driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, which increased demand for contactless payment solutions. The new system aims to reduce maintenance costs, improve traffic flow, and provide a more environmentally friendly and customer-oriented experience.
