Israeli Detention of Gaza Flotilla Activists Sparks International Outcry
Two activists, Saif Abu Keshek from Spain and Thiago Avila from Brazil, have been detained by Israeli authorities after being intercepted on a Gaza-bound humanitarian flotilla. The flotilla, known as the Global Sumud Flotilla, aimed to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and deliver supplies to the region. The activists were part of a group of 175 campaigners detained in international waters near Greece, but they are the only ones still held. Both activists have reportedly been subjected to harsh treatment, including physical violence and stress positions, during their detention. The flotilla's interception and the subsequent treatment of the activists have drawn significant international attention and condemnation.
