FAA Investigates Emergency Landing of Small Plane on Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania
A small aircraft made an emergency landing on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, on April 4, 2026. The plane, a Commander Aircraft Corp. 114-B, was en route from Solberg–Hunterdon Airport in New Jersey to Indiana when the pilot reported engine problems. The pilot, a 65-year-old man from Michigan, and a 34-year-old passenger from New Jersey were uninjured. The incident caused significant traffic delays as eastbound lanes were closed for several hours. The plane was later towed to Queen City Airport in Allentown. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting an investigation into the emergency landing.
