Chicago Man Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run During Dodgers-Cubs Visit
Jose 'Joey' Melesio, a 65-year-old man from Chicago, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in South Los Angeles while visiting for a Dodgers-Cubs series. The Los Angeles Police Department is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver responsible. Melesio was struck by a vehicle traveling at high speed on Figueroa Street, and the driver fled the scene without rendering aid. The suspect vehicle is described as a small, four-door sedan, possibly white, gray, or silver. Melesio's family has started a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses and transport his body back to Chicago.
