Albany City Hall Lockdown Ends with Arrest of Wanted Man
A man identified as Alan William Dude, 43, was taken into custody after a standoff that led to the lockdown of Albany City Hall and surrounding areas. The incident began when Dude, wanted in connection with a Linn County Circuit Court case, was found in a vehicle near the Linn County Courthouse. Police observed what appeared to be a firearm in his possession, prompting a response from the Albany Police Department and the Linn Benton Regional SWAT Team. Despite attempts by crisis negotiators to resolve the situation peacefully, Dude reached for a firearm, leading the SWAT team to use less-than-lethal munitions to subdue him. The standoff concluded with Dude's arrest at 1:27 p.m., and no injuries were reported.
