Park Ridge Fire Department Responds to Severe House Fire, Rescues Two Dogs
A late-night fire severely damaged a home on Parkside Drive in Park Ridge, as reported by the Park Ridge Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 p.m. and arrived shortly after to find light smoke emanating from the house. Upon entry, they discovered a working basement fire, prompting an upgrade in response to include additional fire companies from neighboring communities. The residents had evacuated safely, but two dogs were rescued by the fire personnel. The fire, classified as accidental, caused an estimated $200,000 in damage. No injuries were reported among civilians or fire personnel. The Park Ridge Fire Department received assistance from multiple local fire departments, and mutual aid crews were on standby to handle other service calls.
