Sister Josephine Roche, BVM, Passes Away at 100, Leaving a Legacy in Education and Faith
Sister Josephine M. Roche, a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM), passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 100. She dedicated her life to education and service, having taught at various institutions including The Immaculata High School and Alvernia High School in Chicago, as well as serving as an administrative assistant at Mundelein College. Sister Josephine was born on June 19, 1925, and joined the BVM Congregation in 1948. She is survived by her twin sister, Maureen Kennedy, and other family members. A visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 13, 2026, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chicago.
