Severe Storms Disrupt Midwest, Heat Wave Hits East Coast
Severe storms swept through the Midwest on Wednesday, causing widespread power outages, structural damage, and significant travel disruptions. Meanwhile, a heat wave is gripping the East Coast, with temperatures in the mid-90s°F (mid-30s°C) and heat indices exceeding 100°F (38°C). Philadelphia has declared a heat health emergency, activating cooling centers and outreach programs. The weather system responsible for the storms is moving eastward, with additional severe weather expected in the central Plains, Midwest, and Great Lakes regions.
