Smyrna Senior Activity Center Raises Over $90,000 for Operations and Expansion
The Senior Activity Center of Smyrna (SACS) successfully hosted its 5th Annual Spaghetti Lunch and Spaghetti and Wine Dinner events, raising over $90,000. These funds are designated for the organization's operational expenses and its ongoing capital campaign. The events, held at the end of August, saw full attendance and also commemorated SACS's 55th anniversary. More than 300 guests attended the dinner at the Smyrna Event Center, which featured a wine and cheese reception, a spaghetti dinner, silent and live auctions, and entertainment by comedian Tim Shropshire. During the festivities, Patsy Brown, the founder of SACS, presented the Volunteer Award bearing her name to Deborah and Ronald Woody, recognizing their dedicated service to veterans, neighbors, and the Senior Activity Center members.
