Israeli Strike Targets Hamas Leader Izz al-Din al-Haddad, Former Hostages React
Israeli forces conducted an airstrike targeting Izz al-Din al-Haddad, a senior Hamas military leader, in Gaza City. The strike, which hit a residential building in the Rimal neighborhood, was aimed at eliminating Haddad, who was involved in the October 7 attacks and held several Israeli hostages. Former hostages, including Liri Albag and Emily Damari, expressed relief and satisfaction at the news, viewing it as a form of closure. Haddad, known for his role in planning abductions and using hostages as human shields, had evaded previous assassination attempts. Israeli officials have not confirmed his death but indicated initial success in the operation.
