Despite this, an appeals court has temporarily allowed construction to continue. Trump has criticized both Judge Leon and Alison Hoagland, who assisted in filing a lawsuit against the project, arguing that modern weaponry necessitates such a defense structure. The Department of Justice has requested the lifting of the injunction, citing security concerns following a recent shooting incident.
