Adam Hamilton, a United Methodist pastor and founder of the largest United Methodist church in the U.S., has won the Democratic primary for the Kansas Senate race. He will face incumbent Republican Sen. Roger Marshall in the November general election. Hamilton entered the race late but quickly became a frontrunner due to his significant fundraising efforts, raising over $4.1 million. The Democratic primary was crowded, with 11 candidates vying for the nomination. Hamilton's campaign has focused on addressing issues such as rising costs of living and healthcare, positioning himself as a candidate who prioritizes community and bipartisan cooperation. Meanwhile, Marshall, who has been in office since 2020, is running for re-election, emphasizing his support for Kansas farmers and his alignment with President Trump.
