Wisconsin Doctor Accused of Inseminating Patients with Own Sperm in Fertility Lawsuit
A lawsuit has been filed against Dr. Dettmann, a Wisconsin fertility doctor, alleging that he used his own sperm to inseminate patients without their knowledge or consent. The complaint, filed by lawyers for a patient, Mrs. Lukezich, and her son, Heider, states that Dr. Dettmann treated Mrs. Lukezich for infertility in the 1980s. After unsuccessful treatments, he suggested artificial insemination, assuring her the sperm would come from an anonymous 'healthy young medical student.' However, the lawsuit claims Dr. Dettmann used his own sperm. Heider was born on February 13, 1983, and Dr. Dettmann allegedly continued to provide gynecological and fertility care to Mrs. Lukezich without disclosing that he was Heider's biological father. The lawsuit further alleges that Dr. Dettmann's actions were malicious and that he may have inseminated other patients, leading to Heider having numerous known and unknown siblings.
