Seattle Police Search for Driver in South Lake Union Hit-and-Run Seriously Injuring Skateboarder
Seattle police are actively searching for the driver of a red, newer model Acura sedan involved in a hit-and-run incident in South Lake Union. The incident occurred nearly a week ago, around 5:30 a.m. on Harrison Street near 8th Avenue, when a 20-year-old skateboarder, Jordan Brito, was struck while traveling to work. Brito was crossing Harrison Street mid-block when the vehicle hit him, rendering him unconscious in the roadway. A bystander promptly called 911 for emergency assistance. Brito was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized with 14 injuries, including brain bruising and bleeding, and severe facial damage that necessitates surgery. His mother, Kelly McDonald, has been by his side during his recovery. McDonald described her son's condition, stating, “He looks like somebody ran him over and left him to die. His memory’s not there; he can’t open his eyes. They’re going to reconstruct his whole face.”
