Two Women Die in I-84 Crash Involving Dump Truck in Tolland, Connecticut
Two women, Paige Amanda Cooke, 29, of Manchester, NH, and Kristina Murphy, 28, of Wilmington, MA, were killed in a crash involving a dump truck on Interstate 84 in Tolland, Connecticut. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday night in the area of exit 68 on I-84 west. State police reported that Cooke was driving a Kia Sportage when it collided with the rear of a Mack dump truck for reasons currently under investigation. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. Cooke and Murphy, who were occupants of the Kia, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck sustained injuries, the extent of which has not been disclosed. Following the crash, the highway was shut down at exit 69 but has since reopened. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision and have requested anyone with information to contact state police.
