Fuel Truck Rollover in Monroe Causes Diesel Spill and Road Closure
In Monroe, Connecticut, a Hi-Ho fuel truck was involved in a rollover accident on Hattertown Road early Monday morning. The incident occurred as the driver was traveling west at a high speed during a heavy downpour, leading to a loss of control at a bend near Guinea Road. The truck flipped over and slid back down the hill, coming to rest on its roof and leaking diesel fuel. The driver was unharmed but cited for driving too fast for the conditions. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, along with local firefighters and officials, responded to the scene to manage the hazardous material situation. The road closure affects Hattertown Road between Knapp Street and Blanket Meadow Road, with detours in place to redirect traffic.
