Suspect Arrested Following Fire at Detroit Supermarket, Community Impacted
A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a fire that broke out at E&L Supermercado, a supermarket located in Southwest Detroit. The fire was reported early Monday morning, with flames engulfing the front of the building. The Detroit Fire Investigation Division, in collaboration with the Detroit Police and Fire Departments and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, identified and arrested the suspect using security footage. The fire caused significant water and smoke damage to the supermarket, which is a well-known community staple. Fortunately, all employees were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
