CBP Officers Seize Over $550K in Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Fentanyl at Del Rio Port of Entry
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry successfully seized a significant quantity of hard narcotics, including methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl, with an estimated street value exceeding $550,000. The seizure occurred on September 3 at the Del Rio International Bridge. A CBP officer referred a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by a 28-year-old male U.S. citizen, for secondary inspection. Following a nonintrusive inspection system and a canine examination, officers discovered packages containing 4.45 pounds of methamphetamine, 8.81 pounds of heroin, and 12.69 pounds of fentanyl hidden within the vehicle. CBP seized the narcotics, and Homeland Security Investigations special agents have initiated a criminal investigation and made one arrest in connection with the incident.
