IDF Officer Indicted for Smuggling Goods into Gaza Strip
An IDF lieutenant has been indicted by the Military Prosecution for attempting to smuggle goods into the Gaza Strip. The officer, serving as a deputy company commander, faces charges including aiding the enemy, accepting bribes, and aggravated smuggling. The investigation, led by the Military Police's Special Investigations Unit, revealed that in September 2025, the officer planned to exploit his military role at the Kerem Shalom Crossing to facilitate the smuggling of a truck loaded with prohibited goods. The operation was intended to exchange the goods for millions of shekels, with profits shared among those involved. On September 19, the officer used his influence to open the crossing, misleading soldiers on site, and escorted the truck carrying items such as mobile phones, cigarettes, and solar panels into Gaza.
