Bay Area Faces Two-Week Heat Advisory with Temperatures Reaching 39°C
The San Francisco Bay Area is experiencing an unusual heatwave, with a National Weather Service (NWS) heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, to 10 p.m. on Sunday, October 4. Temperatures are expected to range from 35°C to 39°C (95°F to 103°F) in inland areas, with overnight lows remaining high at 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F) in elevated regions. This prolonged heatwave is forecasted to last through mid-October, with above-normal temperatures persisting due to a high-pressure system influenced by typhoons in the western Pacific. The advisory covers a wide area, including the East Bay, San Francisco Bay shoreline, Santa Clara Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, and parts of Monterey and San Benito counties.
