Wind Advisory and Elevated Fire Risk in Southern New England
A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of eastern, northeastern, and southeastern Massachusetts, as well as northern and southern Rhode Island. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, warns of southwest winds ranging from 15 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 40 to 50 mph. This advisory is active from noon to 10 PM EDT today. Additionally, there is an elevated fire weather potential due to the combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity between 30 to 35 percent, and a recent lack of significant rainfall. These conditions are expected to persist throughout Tuesday, increasing the risk of fire spread in the region.
