Alexandria School Board to Hold Closed Session for Superintendent Candidate Review
The Alexandria City School Board is scheduled to convene a closed session on Thursday to deliberate on prospective candidates for the superintendent position of Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS). This meeting, held under Virginia Code § 2.2-3711(A)(1) of the state's Freedom of Information Act, will focus on discussing candidates' qualifications, experience, references, suitability, potential appointment, compensation, and other employment terms. The board will also invoke § 22.1-69 to potentially exclude the acting superintendent, Dr. Grace Taylor, from a portion or all of the closed session, as she has stated she does not intend to seek the permanent role.
