Mayor Bass Orders Increased Police Patrols in Response to San Fernando Valley Burglaries
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has directed the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to increase patrols along Ventura Boulevard following a series of residential burglaries in the San Fernando Valley. Over the past week, six homes have been targeted, with no apparent connections between the incidents. In one notable case, actor Dylan Sprouse apprehended a suspect on his property, although the individual did not enter the home. The LAPD is implementing several measures, including deploying more patrol vehicles, using mobile license plate readers, and conducting air support patrols. The department is also holding weekly meetings with detectives and collaborating with specialized divisions to address high-value loss burglaries. Mayor Bass emphasized the importance of community safety and the need to hold criminals accountable.
