National Weather Service Issues Heavy Snow Warning for Mountain West Region, Predicts Dangerous Conditions
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heavy snow warning for parts of the Mountain West region, including Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The advisory predicts that these areas will experience significant snowfall and strong winds, leading to potentially dangerous conditions. In Colorado, regions such as the eastern Sawatch and San Juan Mountains could see between 5 and 10 inches of snow, with winds reaching up to 45 mph. Wyoming's Sierra Madre and Snowy Ranges are expected to receive between 6 and 12 inches of snow, with similar wind conditions. Montana's north-central areas along the Rocky Mountain Front could see up to 6 inches of snow. The NWS warns that visibility will be reduced due to blowing snow, making travel very difficult, especially on major interstates and mountain passes.
