Deepfake Detection Crucial for Combating Disinformation
Deepfakes are increasingly used in disinformation campaigns, posing a threat to democratic functions and societal trust. These synthetic media can create alternate realities, influencing public perception and undermining trust in genuine media. Nation-state actors and hacktivists use deepfakes to embarrass targets, expose perceived injustices, or amplify narratives against governments and organizations.
