Two Individuals Charged After Target Shooting Incident Injures Vermont Woman
Two men, Tyler Swan, 27, of Georgia, and Michael Richard, 39, of Essex Junction, are facing charges after an 84-year-old Vermont woman, Geraldine Doran, was seriously injured by a bullet fired during target practice. The incident occurred on June 17 in Swanton, where Swan and Richard were target shooting near Doran's Ceres Circle home. Investigators determined that a round from their target practice entered Doran's residence, striking her. Police believe Swan was responsible for setting up the target. He has been charged with felony aggravated assault, while both Swan and Richard face misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges. They are scheduled to appear before a judge next month. Another person was present during the incident, but details were not released due to their age.
