Alexander Rivera-Russo Arrested in Fatal Jacksonville Hit-and-Run
Alexander Rivera-Russo, 24, has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on January 2 on University Boulevard in Jacksonville. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with U.S. Marshals and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), apprehended Rivera-Russo after a standoff at a residence in the Oakleaf Plantation community. Authorities used gas to encourage his surrender, which ended peacefully with no injuries reported. The incident on January 2 involved Rivera-Russo speeding and rear-ending Savana Pendarvis, 27, pushing her vehicle into a utility pole, causing it to catch fire. Rivera-Russo then fled the scene. JSO stated that this arrest is a significant step towards justice for Pendarvis's family, acknowledging that it does not alleviate their pain or bring her back.
