Mackay Secures Disney Exhibition to Boost Regional Tourism
Mackay, a city in Queensland, Australia, has secured a significant tourism opportunity by becoming the first city in the Southern Hemisphere to host an official Disney exhibition. The exhibition, titled 'Disney: The Exhibition – A Century Of Magic,' is scheduled to run from December 4, 2026, to May 4, 2027. This initiative, driven by the Mackay Regional Council, aims to enhance tourism in the region. The exhibition is expected to generate approximately $14.5 million in additional visitor spending and attract over 38,000 domestic day visitors. This event is part of a broader strategy to boost regional tourism and economic activity, particularly in the accommodation, hospitality, and retail sectors.
